Local martial arts school to host personal safety clinic

Master Brent J. Crisci, owner of United Martial Arts Academies, announced that the school invites parents and children, teachers, community leaders and the public to a free Personal Safety Clinic, Saturday, April 14 at United Martial Arts Academies,102 Bangor Street,
Augusta.
The Personal Safety Clinic will include...male and female instructors from the organization’s Dojos, teaching a variety of self defense and anti-abduction skills. Specialists from the national EZ-Defense and Bully
Buster programs will be on hand to share their insights and knowledge.
“Sadly, there are too many recent news stories about children
being abducted or bullied and beaten by their peers, said Crisci. As a center for personal safety training and information, our school is taking a stand and making a commitment to help our community keep our kids out of the news, as the newest victims.”
Master Crisci stated that, during a January Larry King Live on CNN, King presented the story of a teenage girl who was beaten by three other girls. With the appropriate knowledge and skills, the girl being attacked could have escaped, instead of lying on the ground in a submissive position.
